Description

Up a Hill. And a View.

Through a Valley. For a View.

A path by the River. What a View.

Lake side. Another View. And a café… phew!

It can all be a bit much to take in. View after view after view. So after a long walk through Dare Valley Country Park. Or after a cycle ride, or… well, you get the picture, its good to know that there is a great café to relax in to rest your feet… and your eyes!

Of course, there’s plenty more to do after you’ve had a cuppa…

Dare Valley Country Park Lake and Heron

Dare Valley is a great place to stay and it’s a great place to explore – Dare Valley Country Park is spread over 500 acres of beautiful countryside just a mile from Aberdare Town.

Darren View from Dare Valley Country Park

Britain’s first country park on industrialised land

It was Britain’s first country park to be developed on former industrialised land. The South Wales coal seam rises close to the surface in Dare Valley where 19 pits and drift mines once tore open the land. Following the decline of the industry, the valley was extensively landscaped and, in 1972, the Country Park was born.
