Spring Winner 2008

The prize for this competition included a two night stay at the Ty Newydd Country Hotel, a free ‘Underground Experience’ tour in the Rhondda Heritage Park and two tickets to see HULL TRUCK THEATRE present TWO (Written by Jim Cartwright ) at the Muni Arts Centre in Pontypridd.

To win this prize, all you had to do was answer this relatively easy question.

Who am I? I was born in Treforest near Pontypridd and I love to touch the green, green grass of home?

The winner was Ms Evans from Middlesex.

And the answer was Tom Jones. You knew that though. Didn't you?

We recieved the following email from Ms Evans (20/03/2008)

"Hello,

I am just writing to tell you what a lovely weekend myself and my partner had in South Wales last weekend. We were the winners of the destination RCT competition.

The hotel was really wonderful, the staff were very friendly and the suite was fantastic. We were very impressed by the variety offered on the menu in the hotel restaurant. We have decided that we will definitely visit the hotel again next year.

The visit to the Rhondda Heritage Park was very interesting, My father worked at the Lewis Merthyr Colliery for 6 years in the late 1950's. It was great to be able to see where he worked and what a hard job he had to do.

My partner and I would l just like to say thank you for a superb weekend.
