The Met
The Metropole Cultural and Conference Centre and Abertillery and District Museum are delighted to host part of the above collection for the month of August. The collection began initially in the 1960's when Jerome started this quest whilst working in Ebbw Vale. This is now the largest known collection of military band memorabilia in the world, containing histories of bands, recordings, programmes of military events, photographs, prints and paintings, books and videos of parades and events. In 1989 Jerome married Anne and they worked on the collection together. When he died in 1994, Anne vowed to continue, care for and add to the collection. Her aim is to exhibit this collection in various venues in order for the exhibition to find a permanent home in the County Borough of Blaenau Gwent, where Jerome was born and where the collection was started.
