Travelling by car to Rhondda Cynon Taf

By Road

From the West (West Wales, Connections to Ireland)

Follow the A40 and the A48 East until you reach the M4 at Pont Abraham (just outside Swansea). Proceed East until junction 33 for Llantrisant and the Rhondda Valleys or Junction 32 for the A470 north to Pontypridd and Aberdare.

Follow the M5 to Bristol and join the M49 to the Second Severn Bridge Crossing and the M4 into Wales. At Junction 32 turn onto the A470 North to Pontypridd and Aberdare or Junction 33 to Llantrisant and the Rhondda Valleys.

By Rail

Cardiff is accessible from the main rail network and is served by trains from London Paddington on a half hourly basis.

Rail services to the Valleys from Cardiff are operated by Arriva Trains Wales. Services run to the towns of Treherbert, Aberdare and Pontypridd and connecting stations in between.
