Library Services

Rhondda Cynon Taf Libraries have something for everyone whatever their age and offer a range of services to the local community and visitors to the area, from local history research facilities to library events and much more.

29 libraries in Rhondda Cynon Taf

There are 29 council libraries, offering books on a whole host of subjects, including reference materials, books on tape, CD or in large print. As well as books the libraries also provide music, newspapers, magazines, DVD’s, readers groups, lifelong learning courses and children’s events.

Local history collections

Our local history collections at Aberdare, Treorchy and Pontypridd provide information on Rhondda Cynon Taf, its heritage, its people and its culture. They are home to over 16,000 historical photographs many of which can be seen on our on-line collection of images. The story of Rhondda Cynon Taff can be found on the online heritage trail here.

Computer Facilities

Computers offering Internet access and a range of software are available in all our libraries. There’s also free access to high quality online reference materials and community information. WIFI access in all libraries will be added by the end of 2008.
