Parks
We are so proud of our parks we want to share them with you.
They are all beautiful throughout the year and they all have at least one story to tell.
Whether it’s the history of Pontypridd and the Welsh National Anthem in Ynysangahrad War Memorial Park, the unique Aberdare Park Road Races or the haunting tale of the Lady of the Lake in Ferndale’s Darran Park you’ll find something interesting, exciting or just very pleasant to look at.

All of the traditional parks incorporate seasonal bedding displays, floral features and trees, and sporting facilities such as bowling greens, winter sports fields and top class cricket grounds.
The Premier park in the County Borough is Ynysangharad War Memorial Park, which holds a Green Flag Award. This award is the national standard for parks and green spaces in England and Wales. The award scheme began in 1996 as a means of recognising and rewarding the best green spaces in the country.
All three main parks are a perfect place either to stimulate and excite or provide the opportunity to cool off and relax in an environment of beauty and tranquillity.
